Character Spotlight: Ethan

🌟 This week, in honor of my next children's book. Frankie’s World of Inclusion is coming out THIS SEPTEMBER. We’re doing a Character Spotlight, celebrating the incredible friends who help Frankie (and readers!) learn about neurodiversity, communication, and kindness.

Meet Ethan 💚
One of Frankie’s new friends in Frankie’s World of Inclusion. Ethan communicates using a PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) book, and when he’s happy, he flaps his hands with joy —a beautiful expression of who he is.

Ethan was diagnosed with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome and communicated in his own meaningful ways. Though Ethan is no longer with us, his light continues to shine through every page of this story. This book honors Ethan Wall and the joy, strength, and connection he brought to the world.

Frankie’s curiosity helps her learn how Ethan expresses himself while showing that understanding and acceptance start with simply listening and being open.

Love you always, Ethan.
