Some days feel like you’re just trying to keep everything steady.

Managing routines
anticipating needs
getting through the day

And even when you’re doing everything, it can still feel hard.

Support should fit into your life.
Not feel like something else you have to manage.

I’m a BCBA, but the way I approach this work was shaped through real relationships.

Working closely with individuals with complex support needs changed how I understand behavior.

It shifted the focus from what needs to change
to what is being communicated

From pushing through
to creating space for comfort, connection, and understanding

Support that helps your day feel more connected, calm, and manageable

For caregivers of individuals with complex support needs who want more than just getting through the day

The work we do together focuses on small shifts that make your day feel different.

More clarity in what your child is communicating
More comfort within routines
More moments of connection that feel natural

Not more to do.
Just a different way of approaching what’s already there.

What does Quality-of-life focused support consist of?

  • Understanding Comes First

We begin by listening and taking the time to understand what your day actually looks like. What feels manageable, what feels hard, and what matters most to you.
From there, support is shaped in a way that fits your life.

  • Caregivers as Partners

Caregivers are central to the process.
We work together to understand your experiences, explore options, and find what feels most supportive in your day-to-day life. Everything is built with openness, respect, and shared decision-making.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and circle lines.

    Thoughtfully Individualized

No two families are the same.
Support is responsive and shaped around what your day actually looks like.
The focus is on creating something that feels supportive, realistic, and able to.

  • Moving Forward with Confidence

The goal is to help things feel a little more clear and steady. Support is grounded in what actually works in your day, so it feels doable and lasting. Not just something that works in the moment, but something you can carry forward, grow with you over time.

Inclusive Smiles: Support Shaped by Understanding, Partnership, and Care

  • Understanding first
    Behavior is communication.
We take the time to understand what’s being expressed before trying to change anything.

    Quality of life matters
Support should make daily life feel more manageable, not more overwhelming.
Comfort, connection, and ease are part of meaningful progress.

    Caregivers are central
You know your child and your day best.
Support is built with you and shaped around what fits your life.

    Real life + flexibility
There is no one right way.
Support adjusts to your routines, your capacity, and what’s coming up day to day.

  • Working together feels calm, collaborative, and grounded in your real life.

We slow things down, make sense of what’s coming up, and focus on small shifts that actually make your day feel different.

There’s no pressure to do things perfectly.
Just support that feels clear, manageable, and built around you.

  • Inclusive Smiles grew from years of working closely with individuals with complex support needs and the families who care for them.

Over time, it became clear that many approaches didn’t fully reflect what families were actually living day to day. There was often a focus on changing behavior without enough space to understand what was being communicated or how support could truly fit into real life.

That’s where this work began to shift.

Inclusive Smiles was built from a commitment to slow things down, listen more closely, and create support that feels more connected, more flexible, and more aligned with everyday life.

The work is grounded in the understanding that behavior is communication, and that meaningful support considers the full pictureβ€”routines, capacity, relationships, and context.

Today, Inclusive Smiles supports families in a way that prioritizes comfort, connection, and sustainability, using approaches that are thoughtful, evidence-based, and designed to actually work in your day.

Sadie Zawisza, MS, BCBA, LABA
Caregiver Advocate | Author
Founder & Owner, Inclusive Smiles, LLC.

Hi, I’m Sadie Zawisza

I support caregivers of individuals with complex support needs in creating more comfort, connection, and ease in everyday life.

My work is grounded in understanding behavior as communication and finding ways to support it that feel realistic, flexible, and sustainable. It’s shaped not only by clinical training, but by lived experience, relationships, and a deep respect for the families I work alongside.

If you’re here looking for support that feels more connected to your real life, or simply a space that understands what this kind of day-to-day can feel like, you’re in the right place.

  • My path into this work was shaped through relationships that changed how I understand communication, connection, and care.

One of those relationships was with Ethan, a child who deeply influenced how I see the world. For three years, I had the privilege of working closely with him. He shifted my understanding of behavior from something to change, to something to listen to. After his passing in 2022, I began writing as a way to process that experience. That writing became my first book, E Man, and continues to connect me with families walking similar paths.

Through that work, I met another family whose son, Miles, also lives with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. I became part of his life as a caregiver, and that relationship further deepened my understanding of what daily life can look like for families navigating complex needs.

These experiences shaped how I show up in my work today.

I approach behavior support with a focus on quality of lifeβ€”looking at what your day actually feels like, what’s manageable, and how support can fit into that in a way that feels more steady and connected over time.

Alongside my clinical work, I also write and illustrate children’s books. Storytelling has become another way I explore and share experiences that are often difficult to put into words, especially around communication, sensory differences, and connection.

Everything I do is guided by the individuals and families who have trusted me to understand their world.

If you’re here for support that feels more thoughtful and grounded, or simply to feel less alone in what you’re navigating, I’m really glad you’re here.
