Behavior Consultation for Caregivers

Because behavior is communication — not a problem to be fixed.

When behaviors feel overwhelming, confusing, or disruptive to daily life, it’s often because a need isn’t being met. My work focuses on helping caregivers understand the why behind behavior and build supportive, ethical strategies that honor each child’s autonomy, nervous system, and lived experience.

As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I provide neurodiversity-affirming ABA rooted in collaboration, consent, and compassion — not compliance.

This service includes:

  • Collaborative intake and values-based goal setting

  • Functional behavior assessment informed by context, history, and environment

  • Identification of stressors, unmet needs, and skill gaps

  • Development of individualized, trauma-informed behavior supports

  • Caregiver coaching that builds confidence and sustainability

  • Ongoing reflection and adjustment using data and lived experience

Families often seek support for:

  • Behaviors that affect safety or daily functioning

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Communication challenges

  • Reducing stress and increasing connection at home

This is ethical behavior support that centers dignity, flexibility, and trust — for children and the adults who care for them.

Behavior support is individualized and outcomes vary. Services do not guarantee specific results and are guided by ethical standards, professional judgment, and respect for client autonomy.

What We Offer

At Inclusive Smiles, we offer compassionate, evidence-based, remote consultation services designed to support individuals, families, and caregivers every step of the way.

Services are personalized to meet your unique needs and may include:

  • Work individually with Sadie, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, to receive personalized, goal-focused support. Sessions are tailored to your unique strengths and needs and are designed to support individuals of all neurotypes, including neurotypical and neurodivergent clients.

  • Practical tools. Shared understanding. Less pressure.

Parent coaching is a collaborative space to slow down, reflect, and build skills that fit your family. Sessions focus on realistic strategies that respect capacity, values, and context — not perfection.

    Coaching sessions may include:

    • Understanding behavior patterns and nervous system responses

    • Learning strategies that are flexible and sustainable

    • Practicing skills together, not just talking about them

    • Adjusting approaches as your child — and your family — grows

This work is not about control. It’s about support, safety, and connection.

  • Thoughtful collaboration for ethical, reflective practice.

I offer consultation for professionals seeking grounded, values-aligned support in their work. Rather than providing prescriptive answers, I collaborate with clinicians and educators to strengthen decision-making, clinical reasoning, and ethical clarity.

    Consultation may include:

    • Case review and collaborative problem-solving

    • Functional assessment and intervention refinement

    • Ethical decision-making aligned with BACB standards

    • Review of behavior plans through a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming lens

    • Support navigating caregiver collaboration and complex systems

This service is well-suited for BCBAs, educators, and allied professionals seeking ethical ABA consultation that prioritizes reflection over rigidity.

  • Specialized consultation is provided for caregivers supporting individuals with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. Services focus on education, behavior support strategies, communication considerations, and caregiver empowerment, while honoring the complexity and individuality of each family’s experience.

  • These facilitated support groups provide a safe, welcoming environment for caregivers to connect, learn, and share experiences. Sessions may include guided discussion, psychoeducation, and practical tools, fostering community, resilience, and confidence in caregiving roles.

  • If traditional talk therapy hasn’t felt like the right fit, or if you’re looking for something more practical and action-oriented, Inclusive Smiles offers an approach that integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with behavior-based strategies. Together, we’ll look at how thoughts and emotions may be influencing your behavior and getting in the way of living in alignment with your values. You’ll learn concrete tools to create more flexibility, move past unhelpful patterns, and set meaningful, realistic goals that support the life you want to build—one guided by what truly matters to you.

  • Service packages are available and can be customized to offer comprehensive, cost-effective support aligned with your goals.

Approach to Behavior Change:

Inclusive Smiles prioritizes positive, skill-building, and least-restrictive approaches to behavior change. We focus on teaching meaningful replacement skills, thoughtfully modifying environments, and supporting caregivers in responding with consistency and compassion, rather than relying on punitive or coercive practices.

Inclusive Smiles consultation services are educational and advisory in nature. They are intended to support informed decision-making and skill development. These services do not replace direct clinical treatment or individualized therapy unless explicitly outlined and agreed upon within an appropriate service model.
